4 th practice: Excel Functions I

Digital company wants to make a statistic study of its sales force in Spain. The company has the information contained in the following table:

They also have a commissions table used to calculate commissions and bonus. The bands are the following ones:

 
So you will have to complete the tasks listed below:

1) Insert a title in red and Arial 12 letters. The title has to be the name of the company.

2) Improve the spreadsheet:

-  The letters of the column’s titles should be 12 green Comic sans.

-  Apply borders to the cells or even colors.

-  Apply currency format with two decimals to the sales column.

3) Calculate the commissions the sellers are going to obtain considering the bands established by the company.

4) Calculate the bonus the sellers are going to receive taking into account the bands of the table.

5) Obtain the total net sales of the company.

6) Calculate the salary of each employee.

The commissions and the bonus of each employee are difficult to calculate. So I recommend you to watch the video included for a clue and, if after all you don’t find the solution, ask me. I will be glad to help you. You will also need to use the tutorials included in the last practice.

3rd Practice. Charts and some functions in Excel.

Exercise 1.

In this practice we are going to work with the Excel program. There are two versions installed in the class computers (2007 and 2010) so I have included below two links which lead you to the tutorials you can use to solve these exercises.

2nd PRACTICE: YOUR BLOG

Firstly, you have to read the information shown in the Weebly blog "Creating a blog: useful tools"(http://bilingualticfraypedrourbina.weebly.com/blog). 

There you will find two interesting videos that will explain how to create a blog. Using the earphones I asked you to bring to the class, you will watch the videos

In the next step, you will create a blog using the Blogger application. Weebly will be used later on during the school year to elaborate your own website. In that moment we will include the blog in the webpage.

The title of your blog has to contain the name of your users account (TIC1a,b ,c ,d…).

Although your blog has to be updated throughout the year, in this practice you will have to include at least three comments with the following requirements:

• One has to include an image and other a link.
• One has to allow comments under revision. The other two will not allow this option so no one can provide their opinions about the comments of your blog.

Your comments have to be about the next three issues:

• What you expect to learn during the ICT classes all over the year.
• The problems you have found to create your Operating System document and a brief abstract about the most important ideas contained in your writing.
• How the development of new technologies is affecting the job market, especially within the youngest population.

Finally you will have to send the link of your blog to the e-mail address ticinf2fraypedro@gmail.com.
